Do Koreans speak English?
Koreans do speak English, and many have a decent level of proficiency due to the importance placed on English education in the country. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) average score for Koreans is 82 out of 120, and Korea ranks 6th out of 25 Asian countries in the English Proficiency Index (EPI). Many companies in Korea require their employees to be proficient in English, and signs and announcements in public transportation, tourist attractions, and airports are often written in both Korean and English. However, Koreans face challenges with pronunciation due to differences in vowel sounds between Korean and English.
