Do a lot of Koreans speak English?
English is widely taught and valued in Korea, with the language becoming more prominent after the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War. English is a mandatory subject in Korean schools, and proficiency is highly valued in business and academic settings. The Korean government has invested heavily in promoting English education, and younger Koreans tend to have better English skills than their older counterparts. However, actually speaking the language can still be difficult due to factors such as lack of practice and fear of making mistakes.
